Beautiful Alamedas is the result of the work of two siblings, Esteban and María José, to recover the legacy of their grandparents in Castronuño, between Valladolid, Salamanca and Zamora, very close to Toro.
While María José has spent eighteen years rebuilding and designing the house, Esteban has worked hard to recover a native grape variety, the Albillo Real.
The old house was one of those big houses from one street to another, in which 16 brothers and sisters lived. Yet it was still a house of dark rooms that María José has been able to transform into cheerful and colourful rooms. It is the place where she spent a lot of time talking to her grandmother, and therefore a precious place where she has put her love and creativity to make it a warm home.
It has five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a garden with a few olive trees, orange trees, lemon trees, palm trees, medlar trees, box trees, rose bushes, and water fountains. The interior decoration has a Provençal touch, and everything exudes the cleanliness and peace of a convent.
For his part, Esteban has recovered an ancestral and forgotten variety, the Albillo Real, with which he makes unique plot wines. And, of course, the emblematic variety of the area, Tempranillo, nicknamed Tinta de Toro. Our flagship wines are SEÑORA VALE de Albillo Real and our red MELQUÍADES, which are added to the dozen different references we make every year.
We are enthusiastic about what we do and we invite you to spend a few days in this small oasis created by the natural reserve "Riberas de Castronuño-Vega del Duero", to taste its cheeses, and to get to know its pastry shops and charming corners.
