Casa De Liz is a set of apartments located in an old village house of El Puente, capital and nerve center of Real Valle de Guriezo, in Cantabria’s northeast. Built in 1738, the building takes its name from the original owner, María Liz Nuño. Later on, it became property of the present owner’s grandparents, going through different uses throughout the years, like stables or headquarters for the sausage factory Chorizos Arregui, where pork meet was salted down.
Together with other buildings, Casa De Liz forms a group that has given the neighborhood its identity and that constitutes the oldest architectural setting of this small rural nucleus. Despite having been rehabilitated, it preserves typical architectural elements of the time, such as stone walls, wooden beams and balconies with stone masonry stands. Nowadays, it is divided into 4 apartments, two of them duplex, with terraces on each floor and fully equipped kitchens. In the common lounge, at street level, you will find a fireplace, library, sofa area and a table for games. All decorated in style and with everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed.
From Casa De Liz you can discover and explore everything that Guriezo has to offer. Thanks to its privileged location between beach and mountains, you will find plenty of time for everything: hiking, mountain biking, bathing on the beach, water sports or horseback riding. It is also a good starting point to visit neighboring towns such as Bilbao or Santander, historic villages like Castro Urdiales or Santoña and, of course, to rest, enjoying gourmand meals in communion with nature.
