HOTEL DEL SITJAR, TERUEL CALACEITE: SQUARE TO HISTORY /
Hotel del Sitjar, Teruel.
There where the Plaza del Sitjar was, in Calaceite, one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, Daniel and Belén, its owners, bought almost two decades ago an 18th century house that he, an architect, was in charge of rehabilitating. Once they got to work, they discovered the archaeological remains that they later named the hotel: the silos, which arose in the bowels of the house, that underground world destined to store grain, wine..., in what is now the area of the reception and the cafeteria, and which are the entrance door to a place where history is palpable at every step.
Visiting Hotel del Sitjar, Teruel today is not only exploring the Matarraña region, but also staying in an open-air museum where you can be the next visitor.
