Solsona is undoubtedly one of the must-sees during your stay. Its old town is impressive, and also if you have the chance to visit during its patron saint festivities you can see its important folklore exhibitions. The most important monuments that you can not miss are, in addition to its impressive old town, the Cathedral with the Mare de Déu del Claustre from the 12th century, the remains of the wall, the diocesan and regional museum of Neolithic, Romanesque and Gothic art and the ice well that deserves a visit, is very well preserved and is one of the few that can be visited.
In Madrona, municipality where l'Avellana is located, we recommend you visit the Church of Sant Pere de Madrona (in ruins) that preserves an apse decorated with arcades and circular columns (S. XII).
Also worth a visit is the small town of Sant Climent de Pinell, where you can find an architectural ensemble formed by the Romanesque church of the twelfth century, a manor house that retains some heraldic emblems and the Vila-Closa. The Vila-Closa is a population protected by the walls, without buildings outside the walls. It is a typical type of population from the ancient and middle ages.
Workshop for making homemade soaps strong>. For centuries soap making was a homework that was normally done by the grandmothers of the house. We propose you to recover this task by creating your own soap with aromatic herbs that you will find in the surroundings of l'Avellana.
