The perfect weekend
Casa Rural El Secreto de los tres is located in a beautiful Castilian village, in the foothills of the mountains, in the valley of the river Pirón, surrounded by countryside, trees and Romanesque churches. The visitor can enjoy the most beautiful views, both of the Castilian countryside and the Segovian mountain range.
The strategic location of the Rural House allows the visitor very varied options, both cultural tourism and nature tourism.
Day 1:
El Secreto de los tres is only 20 minutes away from Segovia...we can't miss it!
There we will see the majestic Alcazar which was the residence of the Castilian kings, the lady of the late Gothic cathedrals, the imposing Roman Aqueduct... as well as the wall that surrounds the entire old town.
Calle Real and Casa de los Picos, the main street of the city, the one with the most traffic and commerce, which leads the visitor to the Plaza Mayor, passing through the Casa de los Picos, the main artery of the city which contains an interesting architectural ensemble from the 15th and 16th centuries up to the beginning of the 20th century.
Back on Calle Real, the Plaza de Medina del Campo offers a large architectural ensemble reminiscent of some Italian squares. The imposing church of San Martín or La Casa del siglo XV, the former palace of the Tordesillas family, an example of an urban noble residence.
The Plaza Mayor and its Cathedral are the heart of the city, the former being the result of the town planning policy of the 17th century. Called Mayor since 1461, its appearance was modified due to the collapse of the church of San Miguel in 1523. The church, which was located in the centre of the square, was rebuilt on one side of it, giving the Segovian agora its current form.
The Alcázar of Segovia ...appears as an imaginary ship on the gorge where the rivers Eresma and Clamores converge, festooned by the ochre and blue scenery of the plain and the mountains. It is preceded by manicured gardens with the monument erected to the heroes of the War of Independence, Daoiz and Velarde.
Day 2:
The valley of the river Pirón, the river Viejo and the proximity of the Sierra de Guadarrama, offer the possibility of a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Hiking is highly recommended in the surrounding area.
A visit to La Granja de San Ildefonso, just 20 km from Casa Rural El Secreto de los tres, is a must.
Strolling through the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso is like stepping back to the 18th century and feeling like a member of the royal court. Straight streets that lead to the Palace, slender trees full of grandeur, majestic fountains that water the gardens of a palace full of treasures... And all at the foot of the magnificent Guadarrama mountain range.
Day 3:
15 km separates us from Turégano , with its beautiful square and its great castle.
To complete a good visit to Turégano it is advisable to visit some of the nearby villages or go hiking in the Pirón Valley, with wonderful places for hiking, or towns like Sotosalbos, with its church of San Miguel, one of the best Romanesque churches in Segovia.
Day 4:
Villa de Pedraza, Beautiful medieval village of Segovia, declared a Monumental Site.
The Villa de Pedraza is included in the Association of "The most beautiful villages of Spain" ...we can't miss it!
