WHAT TO SEE IN LISBON FRIDAY EVENING: BAIXA, CHIADO AND BAIRRO ALTO

After checking in at the hotel and having a shower after the ride, we recommend you take a walk through the center to start immersing yourself in the city’s culture. Pedestrian Baixa has an addictive hustle-bustle vibe. There, you can find Rossio square, place where lisboetas usually meet. Figueira square is only a step from there, from which the Via Augusta (the high street) crosses the area from North to South up to Praça do Comercio, the most emblematic of Lisbon.
Before going back to the hotel, take a ride on tram 28 from Praça do Comercio, hopping off to go to Chiado or Bairro Alto, the hipster areas of the city.

WHERE TO EAT IN LISBON

Lisbon is thriving in the kitchen, with a rich and varied gastronomy. Among the dishes you can try are the favas à portuguesa, the frango à piri-piri, cod, and octopus rice. Pastéis de Belém are egg tart pastries dusted with cinnamon made in this emblematic neighbourhood since 1837. You can get a box of this jewels in the Antiga Confeitaria, the first confectionery that began to sell them following the original recipe of the monastery monks. As well as pastéis de Belém, queijadas de Sintra and egg cakes of Alentejo are popular sweets in the city. We recommend you two of our favourite restaurants, Pesca and Local.
