Verdeaurora is the new Rusticae accommodation in Fuerteventura, the wind island in the Canary archipelago, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2009.
Casa Aurora and Casa Pilar, the two options of Verdeaurora available in Rusticae, are located between Los Cuchillos de Vigán and the Protected Natural Area of Malpaís Grande, a unique location where to connect with the wildest and most unique landscape of the island. Any of them, just a few steps away from each other, is an ideal option for travellers looking for relaxation away from the main population centres of the island and with the perfect combination of nature and the rural world.
Verdeaurora is the life project of a family, "focused on respect for the Earth we inhabit", born in the 1960s, when Antonio Mesa and Pilar Cabrera, the grandparents of the current hosts, Aurora and Luis, bought the land of the original farm to plant tomatoes. In this new millennium, the diversification of the business into respectful tourism began with the opening of Casa Tile, one of the Verdeaurora lodgings, the house where their mother was born.
Self-sufficiency in a sustainable way through continuous learning for further outreach is the aim of the family, with ecological and social awareness, commitment, quality, wellbeing and respect as essential values in the day-to-day running of the business.
At Verdeaurora, you can also find a wide range of activities: agrotourism, bird watching, hiking, cycling, cultural routes and astro-tourism.
