TRAVELING WITH FAMILY /

At Casa da Ermida in Santa Catarina, children over 8 years old are welcome, they can stay in a double room with single beds, or in one of the two triple rooms, with a double bed and a mezzanine with a bed.

Children will have fun in the living room, as well as outside the house, surrounded by nature and the lake of Caia.

NATURE AND SPORT /

In wild nature. Casa da Ermida de Santa Catarina is isolated on a peninsula dotted with olive groves and oaks, and surrounded by the waters of the Caia lagoon. Enjoy a walk through the 80 hectares of the farm, observing nature and bird watching.

Watersports. In the lake you can swim, fish or perform water sports, such as kayaking, sailing or windsurfing.

CULTURE AND HERITAGE /

A few kilometers from the house is the city of Elvas, famous for hosting the largest collection of fortifications-bulwarks in the world, which were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, as well as the entire historic center of the city.

District of Portalegre and Alentejo region. Staying at Casa da Ermida in Santa Catarina, in addition to visiting Elvas, it is worthwhile to take a tour of other locations in the district of Portalegre and the Alentejo region. Like San Vicente and its typical chimneys, Campo Maior (the village of the fiesta de las flores), Estremoz, or Borba and its antique shops.

IN THE HOTEL /

Breakfast buffet with fresh orange juice, bread of the day and toast, compotes, butter, cheese, ham, yogurts, tea, milk and coffee, served in the dining room until 12 noon.

Other food services. Exceptionally and upon request, meals are served, but there are excellent restaurants 15 minutes from the house. If you order in advance, you can take the picnic basket with bread, typical cheese, boiled eggs, fruit, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water for the walk or kayak.

Make yourself at home. In winter, a talk by the fireplace. In summer, a drink on the porch or on the terrace of the suite, to enjoy the views and the sunset.

A little while in the open air. You can walk around the farm, observe nature, swim in the lake or simply relax in the Balinese beds with a rocking chair next to the shore. You can also go up to the hermitage, and at night enjoy the starry sky.

Events In a large plot facing the lake and from where you can see the Hermitage of Santa Catarina, various events can be held, for which it has sanitary facilities and a catering support room, in a ruin recovered for that purpose.
