A few meters from the hotel you will find the main buildings and emblematic places in the upper part of the city, such as the Joanina Library, the University Tower, Sé Vieja, the Machado de Castro Museum or the Botanical Garden. To this location is added the fact of being connected to the lower area of Coimbra by narrow streets and very picturesque alleyways. Strolling through Coimbra you can not miss the Plaza del Comercio, the Chapel of San Miguel, the Monastery of Santa Cruz or the Quinta das Lágrimas. And to have a different perspective, nothing better than a boat trip on the Mondego river.

Inside the Hotel

Breakfast is one of the hotel's strengths, based on fresh and genuine products from the region. It is served buffet style in the space known as "Tasca das Tias Camellas", but it can also be savored in the "Patio das Camellas", taking advantage of the sun or the shade of the centenary walnut tree.

Among others, Mário Sá Carneiro, António Nobre, Miguel Torga or Eça de Queiroz.

The tapas with design, appetizing and prepared by the chef, Portuguese products and a well thought-out wine list. The Sapientia Table stands out, an exquisite delicacy. It is open to the public from 18:00 until 22:00, the rest of the day, from 11:00 to 18:00, it works as a bar, with small appetizers, salads and toast.

Time of wine. When the bell of the historic University Tower hits six in the afternoon, the Wine Hour begins. The end of the afternoon in Sapientia Hotel is a hymn to the senses with the tasting of a broth of great harmony and personality. They offer to the guests a glass of registered wine "Antonino Vidal", in tribute to the memory of Antonino José Rodrigues Vidal, professor of the University of Coimbra in the 19th century.

A little while in the open air. In addition to serving as a stage for breakfasts, you can rest in the Patio das Tias Camellas, while listening to the sound of water in the shade of the centenary walnut tree.

Absolutamente recomendable
