Sapientia Hotel has the privilege of being located in the heart of the University of Coimbra, the oldest in Portugal, one of the oldest in Europe and declared a World Heritage Site since 2013, along with Rua Sofia and the upper part of the city . A few meters from the hotel you will find the main buildings and emblematic places in the upper part of the city, such as the Joanina Library, the University Tower, Sé Vieja, the Machado de Castro Museum or the Botanical Garden. In a tribute to Portuguese literature and highlighting the heritage and cultural wealth of the city, each of the rooms, apartments and lofts are dedicated to a writer linked to Coimbra, his University and literary gatherings. The end of the afternoon in Sapientia Hotel is a hymn to the senses with the tasting of a broth of great harmony and personality. They offer to the guests a glass of registered wine "Antonino Vidal", in tribute to the memory of Antonino José Rodrigues Vidal, professor of the University of Coimbra in the 19th century.
