The Pre-Pyrenees of Aragon consists of the north of Huesca and the region of Cinco Villas in Saragossa. A territory where history has left its mark on medieval villages, Romanesque churches, walls, towers... and nature has done the rest. Foz de Lumbier, in Navarra, is a must in a trip to the Pre-Pyrenees. This canyon made by the Irati River in the limestone of the foothills of the Sierra de Leyre canyon is over 1 km and is declared as a Nature Reserve. Other villages to visit are Lumbier, Leyre, Sangüesa, Egües, Yesa and Javier.
The Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida is a set of limestone mountains, which are combined with the huge forests, the masías and charming villages. You should visit Solsonès region, which houses interesting jewels of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque, including the old town of Solsona, the Romanesque churches of Sant Julià de Ceuró or the Baroque sanctuaries of Miracle. Other highlights are Pallars Jussà, the Sierra of Montsec and the Natural Park of Cadí-Moixeró, which straddles the provinces of Barcelona and Girona.
