On January 21, 2019, coinciding with the start of Fitur, we held our Annual Hoteliers Meeting at the Urban Hotel in Madrid, attended by hoteliers and friends who wanted to join us on this important day for us. This was an event to recognize the effort made by our hoteliers to decide to dedicate themselves body and soul to their projects, working for excellence every day. It is a very special edition because of all of the surprises and updates we have for them and for you as well, starting with the launching of the Rusticae Gift Keys, the ones that open the doors to our lodges. At the end of the workshop, Rusticae presented the awards in seven different categories, the classic ones, namely “Best Hotel”, “Best Initiative”, “Best Hotelier Record Track” and “Best Hotelier Entrepreneur” followed by three new awards, to “Best Full Rental House or Apartment”, “Best Sustainable Project” and “Best International Product”.
This new award is also for those projects that proved to be excellent from an integral perspective as a Full Rental House or Apartment. It went to the Casa de Liz Apartments in Guriezo (Cantabria).
This award, Best Hotelier Trajectory, is very exciting for us because it gives recognition to all those years of work dedicated to hospitality. It went to Hospedería Señorío de Briñas (La Rioja). A hotel that has been working for many years with the same enthusiasm as the first day and made from this hotel a model for the sector and its destiny.
This award is an appreciation to those who fight for their dreams, to those who keep working with the same enthusiasm as the first day even when years have passed, to those who know no bounds and will not take a no for an answer. Best Rusticae Hotelier Entrepreneur of 2019 is hotelier family of Altaïr Hotel in Santiago de Compostela (A Coruña).
This award goes to those accommodations that opt for a new way of understanding tourism, that encourage responsible practices, that opt for destinations that are not overcrowded and provides a framework for the travelers that love nature and commit with the sustainable development by contributing to the preservation of the rural environment. Best Rusticae Sustainable Project of 2019 is Quinta Do Rapozinho in Braga (Portugal).
It went to Hotel Rural Can Lluc in San Rafael (Ibiza). An accommodation that opts for a product that transcends borders.
