CARNIVAL OF LA BAÑEZA (LEÓN)

The Carnival of La Bañeza is a very complete party, in which the charangas, the parades, the performances of the floats or the gastronomy are not lacking. Its main hallmark is the large number of participants who dress up to enjoy the street party on February 21-26. Its history and continuous evolution has earned it the declaration of a National Tourist Interest Festival, and other entrenched events such as Quiet Friday, Sparking Saturday or New Year's Eve have been added, such as the monologue contest or the karaoke contest. Enjoy the carnival and then rest at the Hotel Hostería Camino, in Luyego de Somoza or if you go as a group in the Casa La Completo La Madrigata in Revilla de Cepeda, both about 30 minutes from La Bañeza.

Once Christmas ends, the chicharreros -which is how the inhabitants of Santa Cruz de Tenerife are known- and the lovers of the party, begin to prepare their costumes. The Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the second most famous in the world after Rio de Janeiro. It stands out because it is made to live in the street, with its cavalcade, Coso, carnival by day and a great citizen participation. Previously they take place the contests of murgas, comparsas, musical groups and the gala of the Queen. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere on the street, prepare your getaway from now until March 1º, with accommodation at the Hotel San Roque, next to the waters of the Atlantic. From the 23 to the 25 of Febrary, the famous Lantz Carnivals 2020 will be celebrated, having as protagonist the Tuesday of carnival, the day that the parade dedicated to the mythical and evil bandit Miel Otxin is celebrated, where the capture, trial and death at the stake is represented, accompanied of other characters such as Ziripot, Zaldiko, the Arotzak and the Txatxos. Carnival of Solsona

Carnival of Solsona

The mocking, exaggerated and shameless character have made the carnival of Solsona one of the most famous carnivals in Spain. Events such as the "hanging of the donkey" (with a cardboard and paper doll donkey) or the parade of the "crazy giants" are two examples of why they are so characteristic carnivals. You can enjoy them from February 20 to 26. To rest, we recommend the Hotel Sant Roc in Solsona, and a few minutes from the town the Hotel La Vella Farga and the full rental house Rural L'Avellana.
